Click on the map [footnote 1] to learn about the lung and bronchus cancer death rates in the United States from 1999 to 2013 [footnote 2].
Select a location on the map, then select Read more to load the chart with information. When the chart has focus press the Tab key to enter the data. Then use the Down Arrow key to move through each data point, or use the Up Arrow key to move in the opposite direction.
You can use your keyboard to open the help content, access the map, skip passed the map, or open the data sources (references). If you open a content window (for example, chart, help content or references), you can tab into the button that is used to close it.
Map Keyboard Shortcuts
|Arrow Keys||You can move to a specific location. Use the arrow keys to move up or down, as well as left or right.|
|Plus or Minus Keys||Use the Plus ( + ) key to zoom in [footnote 3]. Or use the Minus ( - ) key to zoom out. The Shift key is not required.|
|Enter / Space or Esc Keys||Press the Enter key or Space bar to select a state or location when it's in the center of the map. You can press the Enter key or Space bar again to load the chart with information that you've selected. Or press the Esc key to start over.|
|Control-Shift-1||Toggle (switch back and forth) between Map view and Satellite view.|
|Control-Shift-2||Open Google Maps, using this map's current location, in a separate browser window.|
|Control-Shift-3||Open Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service in a separate browser window.|
